About the position

The Marketing Director at Pronghorn will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's marketing strategy, encompassing all aspects of digital marketing, communications, and public relations initiatives. This position is designed for a dynamic leader who is passionate about the mission of Pronghorn and is committed to reaching and engaging our target audience through compelling verbal and visual messaging. The Marketing Director will oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy, manage relationships with contractors and agencies, and ensure that all marketing efforts align with the brand's goals and values. In this role, the Marketing Director will be responsible for strategic direction and agency management, particularly focusing on events and sponsorships. This includes building an events calendar that seeks grassroots opportunities to showcase Pronghorn within the Black community and the spirits industry. The Director will negotiate sponsorships, execute contracts, and oversee the events agency to ensure flawless execution of events. Additionally, the role involves ensuring that appropriate marketing collateral and promotional materials are available, leveraging events to grow Pronghorn's database, and driving qualified traffic to the brand. Social media management is another critical aspect of this position. The Marketing Director will collaborate with the social media agency to develop and execute a content strategy that enhances engagement and organically grows the brand's reach. This includes producing valuable content for the website and blog, as well as delivering bi-weekly reports that analyze performance and insights. Furthermore, the Marketing Director will lead the development of creative marketing collateral and promotional materials in partnership with creative agencies, ensuring that all messaging is clear and impactful. The role also involves working closely with the founders to provide a range of services within brand marketing and digital/ecommerce, as well as nurturing the community through Pronghorn-hosted channels. This position requires a self-starter with strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple programs and resources, and a passion for driving results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy for Pronghorn.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and agencies to ensure effective marketing initiatives.
  • Build and maintain an events calendar focused on grassroots opportunities within the Black community and the spirits industry.
  • Negotiate sponsorships and execute contracts for events.
  • Oversee the events agency to ensure consistent and flawless execution of events.
  • Ensure availability of appropriate marketing collateral and promotional materials.
  • Leverage events to grow Pronghorn's database and drive qualified traffic to the brand.
  • Collaborate with the social media agency to develop and execute a content strategy that drives engagement.
  • Produce valuable and engaging content for the website and blog to attract and convert target groups.
  • Deliver bi-weekly reporting on marketing performance and insights.
  • Lead the development of creative marketing collateral and promotional materials in collaboration with creative agencies.
  • Work with founders to provide a menu of services within brand marketing and digital/ecommerce.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in spirits or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills to engage with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with a drive for results and passion for growth.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to draft messaging quickly when needed.
  • Ability to organize, implement, and manage programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and resources.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in agency management, ideally within the spirits industry.
  • Familiarity with analytics and the ability to derive insights from data.
