About the position

The Marketing and Events Manager is responsible for the full ownership of the planning, coordination, and execution of both internal and external events, serving as the key decision-maker throughout the entire process. This role requires end-to-end management, ensuring that each event is executed seamlessly, within budget, and aligns with the Bank's objectives. In addition to event management, this position includes broader marketing responsibilities, including overseeing the Bank's social media presence, sourcing and managing promotional items, developing collateral, collaborating with creative agencies and vendors, and supporting community engagement efforts. This role is essential to maintaining the Bank's strong brand presence and fostering internal and external engagement. This individual should demonstrate a high level of strategic thinking and have the ability to manage the execution of key initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate through change is a must. Experience in the banking or financial services industry, and event management strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all internal and external events.
  • Develop internal event concepts and strategies that align with employee engagement and marketing goals, while working closely with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to design and execute customer events aimed at deepening existing relationships and nurturing prospects.
  • Develop event timelines, schedules, and workback plans to ensure all tasks are completed on time, draft pre-event agendas and task lists.
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, and on-site event coordination.
  • Collaborate with creative agencies and print vendors to produce event-related collateral, including invitations, signs, menus, programs, etc.
  • Negotiate contracts and monitor event budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution without compromising quality.
  • Analyze the success of each event and provide post-event reports and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Oversee the Bank's social media presence, including calendar development, content creation, scheduling, and engagement with followers.
  • Monitor the Bank's general mailboxes and social media channels to respond to inquiries.
  • Manage the inventory and distribution of promotional items for events and other marketing activities; coordinate with vendors to order and replenish stock as needed.
  • Source new promotional items, ensuring alignment with the Bank's brand and marketing strategy.
  • Work with external creative agencies to develop and produce creative assets, including collateral, promotional items, and digital content.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of bank regulations; ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Provide support as needed to the community engagement manager.
  • Special projects and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
  • 7+ years related experience and/or training.
  • Proven experience in event management, with the ability to oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including vendor management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to find win-win solutions for everyone involved.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to time manage a multitude of priorities, requests, and relationships in a positive manner.
  • Subject-matter-expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.B.A. from an accredited institution a plus - ideally with an emphasis in Marketing.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign software and some knowledge of database management, project management and event management software a plus.
  • Experience in graphic design a plus.
