About the position

We are seeking a talented Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist to join our team at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various design software and tools to create visually appealing graphics for a variety of purposes. This role is essential in enhancing our marketing efforts and ensuring that our visual communications are engaging and effective. The Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist will be responsible for creating and curating all published content, monitoring trends, and optimizing content based on analytics and metrics. In this position, you will develop a marketing and social media calendar and strategy with input from clergy and program staff to support events, programs, and campaigns. You will design marketing and social media graphics, videos, and visual content, staying up to date with the latest marketing and design best practices and trends. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with clergy, staff, and volunteers to highlight news and increase engagement within the community. Additionally, you will develop and implement design strategies to increase brand awareness and drive engagement. Your role will involve creating engaging and compelling graphics for various digital and print platforms, casting vision, and establishing branding for print and digital projects. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels. Responsibilities

  • Create & curate all published content
  • Monitor trends and optimize content based on analytics and metrics
  • Develop marketing and social media calendar and strategy with input from clergy and program staff to support events, programs, and campaigns
  • Design marketing and social media graphics, videos and visual content
  • Stay up to date with the latest marketing & design best practices, and trends
  • Collaborate with clergy, staff and volunteers to highlight news and increase engagement
  • Develop and implement design strategies to increase brand awareness and drive engagement
  • Create engaging and compelling graphics for various digital and print platforms
  • Cast vision and establish branding for print and digital projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels

Requirements

  • 1 year of graphic design experience (Preferred)
  • 1 year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Preferred)
  • 1 year of experience with Adobe Illustrator (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in branding and visual design
  • Familiarity with marketing principles
  • Experience with WordPress and JavaScript is a plus

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Basecamp
  • Knowledge of current design trends
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
