The Oklahoma Department of Commerce is the primary economic development entity in the state, dedicated to fostering an environment conducive to economic growth. The Marketing Manager (Content Manager) position is a full-time role that plays a crucial part in the Marketing & Communications Team, which is responsible for delivering high-impact marketing solutions for both internal clients and external partner organizations. The team aims to maximize the agency's marketing budget by employing effective strategies from the outset. The services provided by the team encompass a wide range of marketing functions, including branding, marketing consulting, graphic design, content generation and management, social media engagement, video production, media relations, web development, and tradeshow planning and support. In this role, the Content Manager will be tasked with crafting compelling messaging that promotes the various programs and initiatives of the Department of Commerce. This involves collaborating with both internal teams and external clients to effectively communicate Oklahoma's story to diverse audiences. The position requires a proactive approach to writing news releases, developing social media content, and managing the publication of materials across various platforms. Additionally, the Content Manager will create content for the agency's websites and marketing materials, including print and digital collateral, email newsletters, and marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will also provide support to the Director and Deputy Director of Marketing & Communications in public relations efforts, which includes liaising with partner entities to gather quotes for releases and overseeing the review process of materials. Attention to detail is paramount, as the Content Manager will be responsible for proofreading all materials prior to publication to ensure adherence to the agency's editorial standards. The role demands the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet communication goals. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
