The firm is seeking a Marketing Manager for Directories, Rankings, and Awards, who will play a crucial role in managing the firm's participation in key legal directories and awards. This position is under the guidance of the Director of Marketing Strategy & Operations and focuses on developing and executing strategies to enhance the firm's rankings and recognition while ensuring efficiency and consistency in best practices. The successful candidate will be a central point of contact, collaborating closely with U.S. Business Development colleagues, lawyers, Firm Management, and the Communications team. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving the directories submission process from end-to-end, serving as the leading expert on directories, rankings, and awards within the firm. This role involves developing a strategy and calendar to ensure the firm is well represented in priority areas, maintaining firm profiles across all relevant directories, and building relationships with editors and researchers to advocate for the firm. The candidate will also administer research calendars, submissions, client references, and lawyer interviews, while providing training and mentoring in the legal directory research process. Additionally, the role includes tracking and analyzing submissions to identify areas for improvement and working with the Communications and Business Development teams to communicate the firm's rankings effectively. This position requires a proactive approach to managing multiple deadlines and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience in a legal directory or law firm environment, with excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail. Responsibilities

  • Drive the directories submission process from end-to-end.
  • Serve as the central point of contact and leading expert on directories, rankings, and awards within the firm.
  • Develop a strategy and calendar to ensure the firm is well represented in directories and awards in priority areas.
  • Maintain firm profiles for all relevant directories and ensure consistency across all channels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with editors and researchers at the legal directories to understand methodology and advocate on behalf of the firm.
  • Administer research calendars, submissions, client references, and lawyer interviews on behalf of the Firm within the U.S.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and advice in all aspects of the legal directory research process.
  • Track and analyze submissions and identify areas to improve ranking results while optimizing resource allocation.
  • Work with the firm's Communications and Business Development teams to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for communicating the Firm's rankings internally and externally.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements with relevant organizations relating to directories.
  • Assist team members with writing, reviewing, coordinating, or editing a directory submission.
  • Assist with other marketing and business development or awards initiatives, as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years relevant experience at a legal directory or in a law firm environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of directories, rankings, and awards within the legal industry.
  • Strong networking and advocacy skills with the aptitude to build relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
