About the position

The Marketing Manager, Innovation at PurposeBuilt Brands is responsible for generating and executing the innovation and renovation pipeline across the company's consumer brands. This role focuses on identifying consumer insights to create compelling new products or renovations that deliver new benefits or claims in a consumer-centric, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The position requires significant cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Operations and R&D teams, to bring innovation initiatives to life.

Responsibilities

  • Assess opportunities for growth and develop clear strategies for sustainable brand and profitability growth.
  • Lead all aspects of concept and idea development, including trends, target consumer insights, benefits, pricing, and costs.
  • Leverage trends, insights, and data from multiple sources to inform new product ideas and sizing opportunities.
  • Initiate and manage market research projects to gain consumer insights.
  • Lead Design to Value initiatives from a marketing and business perspective to ensure product optimizations are consumer-focused.
  • Prepare persuasive sales and internal communication materials to sell-in innovation pipeline strategy and new product ideas to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with brand teams to ensure new items fit with each brand's purpose and priorities.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the company's production capabilities to effectively partner with operations for innovation execution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in brand or product management in a CPG environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead execution of innovation pipeline from concept to launch.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through new product development processes.
  • Exposure to a variety of market research techniques.
  • Strong critical thinking and marketing thought leadership skills.
  • Ability to create and interpret data analysis alongside consumer and category insights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience managing Design to Value projects.
  • Strong agility and problem-solving skills.
