About the position

The Manager, Public Relations + Events will play a crucial role in enhancing company awareness and driving sales growth by implementing the brand's public relations and events strategy. This position involves liaising with media, influencers, and agency partners to promote the brand through various channels, including product placements and events programming. The role is based at the company's headquarters in Northbrook, IL, and operates on a four-day work week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead contract negotiation and yearly Service of Work (SOW) for Public Relations agency.
  • Develop, execute, and analyze public relations strategies in collaboration with the Public Relations agency and internal teams.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder and lead project teams for annual and seasonal media previews.
  • Develop and oversee public relations and events strategies for product collaboration launches.
  • Manage media interviews, product/image requests, and support media outreach campaigns.
  • Develop a yearly store events calendar and oversee implementation across all channels.
  • Identify new retail partnerships to drive store traffic and brand awareness.
  • Develop and lead store opening events in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Oversee vendor contracts, budgets, and timelines.
  • Provide project support for ad hoc public relations initiatives.
  • Manage the store events coordinator.
  • Create monthly product placement reporting.
  • Assist with strategy and execution of new store market launches.

Requirements

  • 6 years of Consumer and/or Retail Marketing / Public Relations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in executing events of all sizes and scales.
  • Experience leading and managing the creative development process on a marketing team.
