About the position

The Marketing Manager at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP will play a crucial role in supporting the firm's marketing and business development efforts, particularly within the San Francisco office and its technology industry group. This position involves coordinating various marketing projects, managing client development events, updating marketing materials, and conducting research to identify business opportunities. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with partners and other marketing professionals across the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide marketing and business development support to the firm's San Francisco office and cross-office technology industry group.
  • Coordinate and manage a wide variety of assigned marketing and business development projects from inception to implementation.
  • Work with the NY-based events team to plan and execute client development events.
  • Update and maintain the firm's marketing materials, including brochures and practice descriptions.
  • Create pitch books and other marketing materials for clients.
  • Prepare responses to Requests for Proposals/Quotations/Information for clients.
  • Assist with client-facing presentations, webinars, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Work on local media relations and communications projects.
  • Coordinate logistics for industry group meetings and track action items.
  • Maintain client outreach, activity logs, and databases.
  • Support client team development and meeting preparations.
  • Conduct research and analysis of companies and deliver competitive intelligence reports.
  • Identify and monitor priority business development opportunities.
  • Conduct industry and geography-specific research projects.
  • Assist with the execution of the firm's strategic plans.
  • Prepare submissions for legal rankings and directories and manage the submission process.
  • Schedule and participate in various business development and internal meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with lawyers and staff at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work efficiently as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Proactive approach with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work outside of business hours as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in marketing, business development, and/or communications within a law firm or professional services firm.
  • InterAction/CRM experience is a plus.
