About the position

The Search Engine Optimization Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS) will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of the search experience across the AWS website. This role focuses on enhancing content quality, organization, and discoverability to improve the search experience for customers. The SEO Manager will collaborate with AWS marketers to create and measure SEO initiatives, ensuring best practices are followed to optimize a high-traffic marketing website for search engine discoverability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development, implementation, and optimization of the search experience across the AWS website.
  • Educate marketers and content authors on SEO best practices and evangelize these practices across the organization.
  • Partner with teams to develop processes ensuring AWS website content adheres to SEO best practices.
  • Collaborate with marketers and content authors to develop and implement content marketing campaigns to grow SEO traffic.
  • Support technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure new site features/content adhere to SEO best practices.
  • Maintain a library of documentation and articles educating the organization on SEO best practices.
  • Audit AWS web property content to identify opportunities for growth in the natural search channel.
  • Perform keyword research and data analysis to prioritize projects.
  • Analyze, track, and report on overall natural search performance, using data to inform future SEO content strategy.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
  • Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams.
  • Ability to build strategic marketing plans and execute at a tactical level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in online retail/B2C marketing.
  • Working knowledge of current search engine ranking factors and industry best practices.
  • Understanding of technical SEO concepts such as content optimization, XML sitemaps, structured data, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and information architecture.
  • Experience managing complex SEO content initiatives including content strategy, development, implementation, testing, and measurement.
  • Experience using enterprise SEO tools such as Google Webmaster Tools, Moz, seoClarity, ScreamingFrog, Botify.
