About the position

The Marketing Manager at History Factory is a dynamic internal role focused on promoting the company's work to educate and engage audiences while attracting leads. This position requires a blend of creative marketing skills and technical expertise in marketing operations, automation, and data analysis. The Marketing Manager will oversee the planning and implementation of marketing programs, manage relationships related to these programs, and ensure effective use of marketing platforms like HubSpot. This hybrid role involves occasional travel and in-person attendance in the Dupont Circle Area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide copywriting and copy editing for various platforms including social posts, blog posts, email marketing, and newsletters.
  • Support the development of an editorial calendar for 2025 and beyond, collaborating with the Director.
  • Identify industry trends and support producing thought pieces or actions to address them.
  • Lead social media community management and engage with key influencers based on the editorial calendar.
  • Proactively market the business and suggest areas for improvement or new ideas.
  • Manage various projects ensuring delivery on brief, on time, and on budget, including social posts and marketing collateral.
  • Prepare and brief creative teams and external resources for successful project completion.
  • Implement and manage marketing automation tools to streamline processes and improve lead generation.
  • Develop and manage a digital marketing dashboard to track metrics and lead generation.
  • Manage and optimize workflows within PM/CRM tools for efficient campaign execution and reporting.
  • Basic design and video editing using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Manage content on WordPress and have familiarity with podcast publishing tools.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in content marketing and copywriting.
  • Proven ability in social media management and community engagement.
  • Knowledge of SEO, SEM, email marketing, and digital media.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting on marketing content performance.
  • Project management skills with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Technical proficiency in marketing automation tools like HubSpot and Marketo.
  • Basic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
