About the position

Greenberg Traurig, a global law firm, is seeking a Marketing Manager for its Northern California offices located in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing strategic marketing, communication, and business development initiatives tailored to the local and regional markets. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the Managing Shareholders, Practice Leaders, and the Business Director to create and execute business development strategies that align with the firm's overall objectives. This position is integral to the global marketing and business development team, ensuring that local efforts are in sync with broader firm initiatives. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for fostering relationships with attorneys, coaching them through the sales process, and disseminating information about successful marketing efforts. This includes managing proposal requests, coordinating sponsorships and event attendance, and developing marketing collateral such as capability profiles and web content. The role also involves gathering local attorney experience for global business development efforts and monitoring opportunities for board memberships and speaking engagements. In addition to managing client events and evaluating their ROI, the Marketing Manager will collaborate with the Marketing Directors and Regional Communications Specialist to create a proactive marketing communications plan. This plan will align with the visibility goals of the office and practice areas, ensuring that all marketing initiatives adhere to firm policies and best practices. The position also includes managing the local marketing budget and assisting with various projects and requests, making it essential for the Marketing Manager to be a self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development aspects of business plans in collaboration with Managing Shareholders and Practice Leaders.
  • Foster relationships with attorneys and coach them through the sales process.
  • Manage and respond to proposal requests associated with attorneys in the office/region.
  • Coordinate office/practice/industry sponsorships and event attendance to enhance visibility and brand awareness.
  • Evaluate potential new business opportunities and liaise with the global business development team.
  • Develop marketing content including capability profiles, web content, and print communications.
  • Gather local attorney experience for global business development efforts and directory submissions.
  • Monitor and promote speaking/panel opportunities for assigned attorneys.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of client events, including budgeting and ROI evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Directors to develop a proactive marketing communications plan.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies and best practices in marketing and business development activities.
  • Manage the local office marketing budget and assist with various projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum of seven years' experience in marketing or business development.
  • Experience supervising a team is necessary.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience at a law firm or professional services firm is strongly preferred.
