About the position

The Marketing and Operations Director plays a pivotal role in fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders to ensure that Clay County remains an attractive place to live, work, and play. This position is responsible for encouraging industry leaders to relocate, reinvest, and remain in the community, thereby directly impacting the economic development of the area. The Director will oversee the creation, implementation, and distribution of both internal and external marketing initiatives, utilizing various platforms such as the web, social media, and personal engagement to promote the organization’s mission and activities. In addition to marketing responsibilities, the Director will organize four annual luncheons/workshop events for over 150 attendees, engage with Board members and investors, and manage office operations and accounting. This includes preparing and managing State grant submissions aimed at expanding economic development opportunities within Clay County, as well as preparing a monthly newsletter for investors. The role requires a high level of visibility to the public, community organizations, outside agencies, and important business partners, necessitating a professional image and high-energy communication. The Marketing and Operations Director will also support the President as needed, reinforcing management and Board decisions while continuously displaying a passion for enhancing the quality of life in the community. This position is essential and requires minimal supervision, making it crucial for the Director to maintain integrity and professionalism in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and distribution of internal and external marketing initiatives.
  • Organize four annual luncheons/workshop events for 150+ attendees.
  • Engage with Board members and investors to foster relationships.
  • Manage office operations and office accounting.
  • Prepare and manage State grant submissions to expand economic development opportunities.
  • Prepare a monthly newsletter for investors.
  • Support the President as needed in various tasks.
  • Manage website content and updates, including digital and print advertising.
  • Cultivate relationships with potential investor partners and foster engagement.
  • Collaborate with JAXUSA Partnership on marketing, research, and talent development initiatives.
  • Forecast and modify budgets, providing recommendations and reports.
  • Support accounting functions including accounts receivable and payable.
  • Provide HR support including payroll and records management.
  • Manage relationships with consultants and vendors for various services.
  • Identify, submit, manage, and report on grant applications.
  • Maintain multiple databases and resources for data collection and analysis.
  • Engage in workforce development initiatives to support existing businesses.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Webex.
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
