About the position

The Marketing / Operations Director at the Clay Florida Economic Development Corporation plays a pivotal role in fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders to enhance the quality of life in Clay County. This position is responsible for implementing strategic marketing initiatives and establishing operational efficiencies that encourage industry leaders to relocate, reinvest, and remain in the community. The director will oversee the creation, implementation, and distribution of marketing materials across various platforms, including the web and social media, while also engaging personally with stakeholders. In addition to marketing responsibilities, the director will organize four annual luncheons/workshop events for over 150 attendees, manage office operations and accounting, and prepare and manage state grant submissions aimed at expanding economic development opportunities within Clay County. The role requires a high level of visibility and interaction with the public, community organizations, outside agencies, and governmental departments, necessitating a professional image and high-energy communication. The director will also support the President as needed, ensuring that all activities align with the organization's goals and values. The position demands a proactive approach to business development, including identifying potential investor partners and cultivating relationships to foster engagement. The director will collaborate with JAXUSA Partnership on marketing, research, and talent development initiatives, ensuring that Clay County remains competitive and attractive to businesses and residents alike.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and distribution of internal and external marketing materials.
  • Organize four annual luncheons/workshop events for 150+ attendees.
  • Engage with Board members and investors to foster relationships.
  • Manage office operations and office accounting.
  • Prepare and manage state grant submissions to expand economic development opportunities.
  • Prepare a monthly newsletter for investors.
  • Support the President as needed in various tasks.
  • Identify potential investor partners and cultivate relationships for business development.
  • Collaborate with JAXUSA Partnership on marketing and research initiatives.
  • Manage budget forecasting, modifications, and reporting.
  • Provide accounting support for bookkeeper including accounts receivable and payable.
  • Support HR functions including payroll and records management.
  • Manage relationships with consultants and vendors for various services.
  • Administer grant applications and reporting processes.
  • Collect and analyze data to support recruitment projects and identify trends.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Webex.
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
