About the position

Adtalem Global Education is seeking a Marketing Operations Project Manager to join their team in Chicago, IL. This full-time position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring office presence three days a week for those residing within 50 miles of the office. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of various projects that support the organization's business goals and objectives, particularly in campus and online expansion efforts. This role involves close collaboration with project owners, consultants, and third-party vendors to deliver successful project outcomes. The Project Manager will be responsible for analyzing project needs, developing detailed project plans, and tracking the completion of work plan activities. They will manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each is delivered on time and within budget. The role requires the ability to modify tasks and resources as necessary to maintain project progress, identify and address obstacles, and provide coaching and development to team members. Effective communication with clients regarding project progress and issues is essential, as is the ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision. Candidates should possess a BS/BA degree, with a Master's degree in Business or Project Management preferred. A minimum of five years of full lifecycle project management experience, including knowledge of PMBOK or equivalent methodologies, is required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for success in this role. The Project Manager will also need to demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage a variety of business and vendor resources in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes project needs and identifies resources required.
  • Develops detailed project plans, including key activities, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Tracks and documents completion of work plan activities and initiates efforts to advance the project as needed.
  • Manages multiple projects according to plan while monitoring, measuring, and reporting on progress.
  • Modifies tasks, sequencing, and resourcing as appropriate to maintain progress.
  • Identifies and addresses obstacles ensuring appropriate resolution.
  • Manages project teams and related implementation activities according to project plans.
  • Provides input into how to use resources more effectively and coordinates staffing changes with managers.
  • Balances use of vendor and internal resources.
  • Coaches and develops team members in support of achieving project objectives.
  • Communicates project progress and issues to clients, especially related to changes in resources, scheduling, scope, and delivery.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree required.
  • Master's degree in Business or Project Management preferred.
  • 5 years of full lifecycle project management experience including knowledge of PMBOK or other equivalent methodology.
  • Experience in an academic enterprise preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and determine effective business solutions.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to advance projects while managing multiple initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage a variety of business and vendor resources.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with project management practices and tools.
