About the position

The Marketing Operations Specialist at Varsity Spirit plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient execution of marketing operational projects. This position focuses on improving the efficiency of marketing operations, ensuring timely project delivery within budget and quality standards. The specialist collaborates with various teams, including marketing, IT, sales, and external vendors, to streamline workflows and enhance project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, initiating, and managing marketing operations projects across all business units.
  • Use project management tools to track progress and report on milestones.
  • Support the development and implementation of marketing campaigns through operational best practices.
  • Assist the Technology manager with the administration of marketing technology tools and platforms.
  • Analyze and optimize marketing processes and workflows for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of marketing activities.
  • Provide training and support to marketing team members on new processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Help monitor and track marketing budgets, ensuring accurate invoicing and record-keeping.
  • Ensure marketing operations comply with industry standards and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, Smartsheets, JIRA) and MAP systems (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Klaviyo).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to manage resources effectively and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in live events, sports, media, and/or entertainment.
  • Experience in cheerleading, dance, or performing arts.
  • Knowledge of IT process and terminology.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Agile) or marketing technologies (e.g., Salesforce, Klaviyo).
  • Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on marketing operations.
