About the position

The Preditor (Editor/Videographer) position at Horizon Services is a senior-level role focused on producing high-quality video content for marketing purposes. The ideal candidate will collaborate with in-house creatives to develop compelling stories that resonate with the diverse needs of the company's 19 brands. This role requires a blend of filmmaking, shooting, and editing skills, along with a passion for innovative storytelling and a commitment to personal and team growth in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the creative output aligns with the creative brief.
  • Participate in radio/audio recording sessions and video production phases.
  • Continuously improve skills as a video editor and videographer.
  • Apply feedback from the VP of Creative Marketing, Marketing Team, and CMO effectively.
  • Meet internal and media traffic deadlines, raising concerns early if more time is needed.
  • Adapt to different styles and enhance creative thinking, editing, and videography skills.
  • Collaborate with the creative team and cross-discipline marketing.
  • Strategically approach brand differences to differentiate each brand.
  • Work closely with design and copy counterparts to ensure timely and error-free video deliverables.
  • Develop rough cuts based on creative direction from the team.
  • Communicate with project managers and brand teams to address feedback accurately.
  • Track expenses and licensing details for stock music, imagery, and video.
  • Provide direction to full-time and freelance video editors when applicable.
  • Create animated graphics and visual effects for video content.
  • Manage clients, crew, and talent during video production jobs.
  • Develop organized pre-production materials and shoot-day call sheets.
  • Maintain production equipment and track expenses for shoots.
  • Seek opportunities to improve in-house production tools and processes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, agency, brand, or commercial video production.
  • Strong digital portfolio showcasing beautiful video content and editorial storytelling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Broadcast Journalism, or equivalent.
  • Experience editing video for various marketing communications including TV, YouTube, and corporate videos.
  • Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, Vimeo, and Frame.io.
  • Proficiency in video pre-production and production techniques, including camera usage and lighting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong presentation abilities.
  • Self-starting attitude with a proactive approach to solving marketing challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with still photography capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Sony FS7, RED, and similar digital cinema cameras.
