About the position

The Marketing Product Manager for Interior Waterborne at Sherwin-Williams is responsible for overseeing the new product development process specifically for Industrial Wood Interior Waterborne technology. This role involves managing the stage gate process from ideation through to successful launch and audit, ensuring that all critical to quality (CTQ) requirements are identified for both new and existing products. The position requires gathering and analyzing competitive information to inform product development and market strategies. Additionally, the Marketing Product Manager will develop technical scopes and specifications, create proforma documents, and conduct new product validation and field testing to ensure that products meet market needs and expectations. The role also includes the commercialization of new products, determining market pricing, and collaborating with the Marketing Communications team to aid in the development of new product launch packages. The Marketing Product Manager will be responsible for forecasting the Industrial Wood Interior Waterborne product line, maintaining and managing product technical information such as Product Data Sheets, Label Directions, and MSDS. Ongoing competitive benchmarking and managing the product lifecycle, including SKU rationalization, are also key responsibilities. Strategic product planning and road mapping will be conducted utilizing the Multi-Generational Product Planning (MGPP) methodology, while maintaining market intelligence and understanding customer processes related to interior waterborne technologies. The position requires strong collaboration with R&D, sales, facilities, and manufacturing to ensure alignment and support for market needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the coatings industry and experience working with cross-functional teams to successfully launch new products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new product development for Industrial Wood Interior Waterborne technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (required).
  • Master's degree (preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in the coatings industry.
  • 5-7 years of experience working with cross-functional teams of technical, marketing, and sales professionals.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in successfully launching new products via the Stage Gate process.
  • Proven project management experience.
