About the position

The Marketing Proposal Specialist at AECOM will collaborate with the Buildings + Places team and the West Region business development and operations team to manage and prepare proposals for client solicitations. This remote position requires expertise in marketing and proposal management, leading various proposals from pre-RFP stages to interviews, and ensuring compliance with RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines. The role involves interfacing with technical and business development staff, providing leadership to pursuit teams, and supporting special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates substantial expertise as a marketing and proposal management generalist or specialist.
  • Leads a variety of proposals and presentations from pre-RFP positioning through to interview stage.
  • Participates in go/no-go and green light analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines.
  • Interfaces with technical and BD staff to develop submittals and materials to win new contracts.
  • Provides leadership and direction to pursuit teams for proposals, including schedule, templates, compliance, content planning, messaging and production.
  • Serves as lead writer/editor for resumes and past performance sections for proposals.
  • Provides document design, ensuring RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines are followed.
  • Facilitates pink and red team quality reviews and applies lessons learned to proposals.
  • Manages the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams.
  • Writes and edits tailored resumes and past performance sections for proposals.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field + 4 years of relevant experience in proposal activity.
  • A developed understanding of effective proposal and presentation strategy development and compliance.
  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others.
  • Excellent writing skills, with an aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry, including AECOM's projects, people, credentials, and competitors.
  • A detailed knowledge of marketing best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of InDesign as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Understanding of CRM Salesforce experience is a plus.
