About the position

The Marketing Proposal Specialist at AECOM will collaborate with the Buildings + Places team and the West Region business development and operations team to manage and prepare proposals for client solicitations. This role involves leading proposal efforts, ensuring compliance with RFP instructions, and providing direction to pursuit teams. The position is remote and requires strong writing and organizational skills to produce compelling proposals that win contracts for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a variety of proposals and presentations from pre-RFP positioning through to interview stage.
  • Participate in go/no-go and green light analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines.
  • Interface with technical and BD staff to develop submittals and materials to win new contracts.
  • Provide leadership and direction to pursuit teams for proposals, including schedule, templates, compliance, content planning, messaging, and production.
  • Serve as lead writer/editor for resumes and past performance sections for proposals.
  • Ensure RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines are followed in document design.
  • Facilitate pink and red team quality reviews and apply lessons learned to proposals.
  • Manage the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on review team direction.
  • Support special projects as required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field + 4 years of relevant experience in proposal activity.
  • Developed understanding of effective proposal and presentation strategy development and compliance.
  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage documents and lead deliverable efforts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry, including AECOM's projects and competitors.
  • Detailed knowledge of marketing best practices and procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of CRM Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
