Working out of our San Diego office, the Marketing Proposal Specialist plays an integral role to the growth of RICK. You will be coordinating the proposal process, strategy development, building relationships with technical partners, executing our creative visions, and inspiring others. We collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to pursue projects that create resilient communities and infrastructure. In this role, you will prepare thoughtful, high-impact, and engaging pursuits, presentations, and promotional materials, which highlight our depth of experience, expertise, and creativity. You will analyze RFQ/RFP documents to develop detailed compliance and responsibilities matrices, create proposal outlines and management plans, and facilitate strategy and proposal review meetings. You will also be responsible for maintaining the technical accuracy of proposal templates, coordinating legal reviews, overseeing print production, and performing proposal close-out tasks. Your efforts will contribute to process improvement and higher success rates in our proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare thoughtful, high-impact, and engaging pursuits, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Analyze RFQ/RFP documents to develop detailed compliance and responsibilities matrices.
  • Create proposal outlines and management plans, which may involve multiple Rick offices, staff participants, and subconsultant firms.
  • Facilitate and lead strategy and proposal review meetings to develop win themes, drive progress, and ensure adherence to the proposal schedule.
  • Resolve unclear RFP requirements.
  • Develop resumes, project profiles, project lists, forms, and other standard materials for technical partners as requested.
  • Liaise with RICK subject matter experts to maintain the technical accuracy of proposal templates, project descriptions, and boilerplate content.
  • Coordinate legal review of forms and contract terms.
  • Oversee print production and document delivery.
  • Perform proposal close-out tasks and track selection decisions.
  • Maintain our internal systems of information capture.
  • Document lessons and execute actions to produce process improvement and attain higher success rates.
  • Evaluate technical content to ensure RFP requirements and evaluation criteria are met and the proposal is compliant.
  • Track amendments and clarifications to ensure that the final proposal incorporates all required information.
  • Track and distribute project leads.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience writing and managing proposals for firms within the AEC industry preferred.
  • Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in the fields of architecture, engineering, or construction.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong editing skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple proposals and other deliverables simultaneously while following the company's proposal preparation process.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, resourceful, and possess a can-do attitude.
  • Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to successfully manage concurrent projects and demonstrate flexibility with shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves
