About the position

The Marketing and Public Relations Manager will lead the marketing and public relations efforts for venue events, focusing on promotional program creation, branding, social media management, and public relations. This role involves overseeing department personnel, managing budgets, and developing marketing strategies to enhance ticket sales and venue exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee department personnel and ensure assigned work is completed correctly and on time.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to develop marketing staff.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage staff job results through appraisals and recognition.
  • Supervise and delegate the work of marketing staff.
  • Help develop and manage the department budget throughout the year.
  • Create detailed promotional and advertising plans for venue events.
  • Create press releases and oversee the implementation of advertising campaigns.
  • Communicate with media outlets and promoters to increase ticket sales.
  • Develop new strategies for existing events by analyzing market statistics.
  • Report event attendance numbers to industry publications.
  • Oversee website, social media, and digital marketing efforts for the venue.
  • Create and implement an annual plan to increase followers and website visits.
  • Collaborate with the booking team to create unique pitches for artists.
  • Identify and address short-term and long-range issues.
  • Organize and submit ticket holds for promotions and media.
  • Develop relationships with local media and work closely with corporate PR department.
  • Market venue programs to increase revenues through various upsells and sponsorships.
  • Oversee third-party relationships with vendors and manage artist gifting programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in arena or multi-purpose entertainment facility marketing or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational ability and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • High level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of marketing and public relations principles and practices.
  • Ability to speak comfortably in public and handle crisis situations professionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop.
