About the position

Verkada is seeking a Marketing Development Representative (MDR) to join our dynamic team in San Mateo, CA. As the largest cloud-based B2B physical security platform in the world, Verkada offers a unique opportunity to work with a company that is at the forefront of security technology. Our platform integrates six product lines, including video security cameras, access control, environmental sensors, alarms, and workplace intelligence, all managed through a single cloud-based software. This role is pivotal in our business development strategy, which is heavily reliant on data-driven metrics to generate leads and convert them into sales-ready opportunities. In this position, you will be responsible for executing automated lead generation programs, allowing our sales representatives to focus on meaningful conversations with high-level prospects. The MDR role is designed to set you up for success, with the potential to transition into an Account Executive (AE) role after approximately one year. You will receive comprehensive training and support to understand how Verkada generates business and to develop your sales skills. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include following standardized processes to qualify and convert marketing leads, providing accurate lead distribution to Account Executives, utilizing Verkada's systems such as Salesforce, and demonstrating product expertise to potential clients. You will be expected to achieve and exceed your quotas while contributing to the overall growth objectives of the company. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate, energetic, and eager to learn in a fast-paced sales environment.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify and convert a high volume of marketing leads into prospective customers.
  • Generate sales-ready meetings and opportunities for Account Executives.
  • Provide accurate lead distribution and thorough discovery to assigned Account Executives.
  • Utilize Verkada systems such as Salesforce and sales enablement tools according to company standards.
  • Identify pre-selected insights and metrics applicable to the leads generated.
  • Follow scripted materials to demonstrate product expertise when connecting with clientele.
  • Achieve and push the limits of quota, territory revenue, and growth objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passionate, high energy, and enjoy being challenged
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn and follow standardized processes in a fast-paced sales organization
  • Ambition and desire to grow and advance in a sales career
