About the position

The Marketing Scrum Master at Erie Insurance Group is a pivotal role responsible for leading two Agile marketing teams. This position requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly in the context of business agility. The individual will act as a servant leader, facilitating team dynamics and ensuring that the teams are equipped to manage change effectively. A proactive approach to continuous improvement is essential, as is the ability to create inclusive environments that foster collaboration and innovation. In this role, the Marketing Scrum Master will support the Marketing department's ability to deliver on brand, on budget, and on time by leveraging technology, processes, vendors, and insights. This includes contributing to strategic and annual planning, as well as budgeting for Marketing and Marketing Operations. The individual will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements that align with marketing best practices, collaborating across departments to prioritize and deliver enhancements to marketing technology. The position involves defining initial strategies, scopes, calendars, and deliverables for marketing technology in alignment with broader marketing and enterprise strategies. The Marketing Scrum Master will lead the development of complex operational plans, drive initiatives to implement Agile practices, and create ongoing communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed about project updates, timelines, and results. Additionally, the role includes managing vendor relationships, budgets, and contracts, as well as mentoring team members on best practices and quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Lead two Agile marketing teams, fostering a culture of servant leadership and collaboration.
  • Define initial strategy, scope, calendar, and deliverables for marketing technology in alignment with marketing and enterprise strategies.
  • Develop complex operational plans to support strategic marketing initiatives and implement Agile ways of working.
  • Create and implement ongoing communication strategies across the marketing organization, sharing project updates and results.
  • Streamline, document, implement, and oversee governance of marketing workflows, processes, and best practices.
  • Identify operational changes to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and cost optimization with Marketing leads.
  • Manage communication and change management with stakeholders through various means, including written and verbal communication.
  • Identify and recommend new technological capabilities to improve marketing team performance, managing technical aspects of key marketing systems.
  • Manage marketing vendor relationships, budgets, contracts, and approvals, seeking value-added services in partnership with Sourcing & Vendor Management.
  • Mentor and coach team members on best practices through quality reviews of their deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, finance, management, information systems, or related field and seven years of relevant experience; or
  • Associates degree in marketing, business, finance, management, information systems, or related field and nine years of relevant experience; or
  • High School diploma or GED and eleven years of relevant experience.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred, with five years of relevant experience.
