The Marketing and Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that may include traditional media marketing and advertising. The role also requires monitoring and communicating the status of tactical campaign implementations, creating and enhancing content across various media, and collaborating with external agencies while adhering to brand standards. Candidates should be prepared for a primarily in-person work environment at the University Park campus, with some flexibility for hybrid work arrangements. The position may require after-hours commitments to align with scheduled events, and candidates must be local or willing to travel to campus at their own expense. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a variety of marketing, communications, and public relations strategies.
  • Assist in planning marketing and communications strategy based on relevant research.
  • Prepare creative briefs for concept development and deliver presentations of creative work to clients.
  • Benchmark marketing efforts and prepare reports for innovation and competitive analysis.
  • Monitor and communicate the status of tactical campaign implementation with clients and management.
  • Create, conceptualize, edit, and enhance communications and content through various media.
  • Schedule and disseminate print and electronic communications and advertising placements.
  • Monitor news and media presence, and track analytics of the website and digital traffic.
  • Collaborate with agencies and vendor partners on campaigns while adhering to brand standards.
  • Oversee and direct the work of part-time employees and students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher plus 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in developing and executing marketing, communications, and public relations strategies.
  • Proven ability to use data and metrics to develop strategies and achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated experience using Google Analytics is preferred.
  • Experience using web content management systems; specific experience with Drupal is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
