About the position

The Marketing Specialist II position at the University of Louisville is a full-time role focused on promoting the mission, vision, educational programs, and events of the School of Nursing (SON). The incumbent will utilize various platforms, including the School of Nursing's website, social media accounts, and commercial media, to effectively communicate and enhance the visibility of the School's initiatives. This position requires collaboration with the University's Office of Communications and Marketing, the Assistant Director of Development for the School of Nursing, and Information Technology personnel to achieve marketing goals. A successful candidate will possess strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills, which are essential for creating compelling content that resonates with the target audience. In this role, the Marketing Specialist II will be responsible for developing and implementing both short- and long-term marketing strategies aimed at increasing awareness of the School of Nursing. This includes working closely with IT personnel to create engaging web content, managing regular posts on social media to promote educational programs and events, and collaborating with the Office of Student Services to produce recruitment materials such as brochures, videos, and other promotional content. The position also involves public relations efforts for new grants, research findings, and various awards and honors received by the School of Nursing. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist will play a key role in promoting the School's presence at university events and managing the communication needs of the Dean's office, all while adhering to budgetary constraints and completing special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term marketing strategies to create and increase awareness of the School of Nursing.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel to develop web content including the Dean's message and PR for research, teaching, practice, and service.
  • Manage regular posts on the School of Nursing's social media accounts to promote educational programs and events.
  • Work with the Office of Student Services to develop recruitment materials such as brochures, workshops, and videos.
  • Handle public relations for new grants, research findings, awards, and publications.
  • Promote the School of Nursing's presence at university events such as Raise Some L and Research!Louisville.
  • Manage the SON Newsletter and communication needs of the Dean's office.
  • Work within budgetary constraints and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in marketing or a similar field.
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
