About the position

The Marketing Specialist III position at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is a vital role within the Division of Marketing and Development. This position is designed for individuals who possess a strong background in marketing, customer service, and public relations, and who are eager to contribute to the state's agricultural initiatives. The successful candidate will provide direct support to the Bureau's supervisory staff and may occasionally be assigned to conduct operations in market settings. This role involves compiling and analyzing data from the 12 State Farmers Markets, producing a variety of reports related to agricultural products, sales, and general market data. The Marketing Specialist III will lead special projects designated by the supervisor, which may include managing the Leasable Building Space Inventory, Space Inventory, FCO, Annual Summary Report, and Estate Holdings. In addition to project management, the Marketing Specialist III will compile requests from the general public for information concerning the State Markets and other agriculture-related inquiries. This position also requires managing commodity reports and sales, providing direct support to the Gadsden State Farmers Market, and preparing various financial documents such as purchase requisitions, billing documents, and bank deposits. The role demands a comprehensive working knowledge of general office procedures, databases, and other technical capabilities necessary to achieve superior results in missions, events, and projects. Furthermore, the Marketing Specialist III will assist with budget or contract management and routine correspondence for the Bureau of State Farmers Markets, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct support to the Bureau's supervisory staff.
  • Conducts operations in market settings as assigned.
  • Compiles and analyzes data from the 12 State Farmers Markets.
  • Produces reports related to agricultural products, sales, and market data.
  • Leads special projects designated by the supervisor.
  • Compiles requests from the public for information about State Markets and agriculture-related inquiries.
  • Manages commodity reports and sales.
  • Provides support to the Gadsden State Farmers Market.
  • Prepares market financial and commodity reports.
  • Processes purchase requisitions and invoices for payment.
  • Prepares billing documents and records payments.
  • Maintains expense and revenue ledgers.
  • Gathers and prepares lease creation documents and performs related calculations.
  • Supports budget or contract management.
  • Handles routine correspondence and monthly reports for the Bureau.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience in marketing, customer service, public relations, administrative or clerical work.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
