About the position

The University of Tulsa's Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications (MarCom) is seeking a dynamic and organized Marketing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential, executive support to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and the MarCom team. Your responsibilities will include creative traffic management, budget tracking, press and publicity support, and other duties as assigned. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about marketing and communications in the higher education sector and is eager to contribute to the university's success. As a Marketing Specialist, you will coordinate and manage marketing projects, ensuring timely completion and delivery. You will collaborate with creative teams to prioritize and assign tasks, maintain project schedules, track progress, and resolve any bottlenecks. Ensuring brand consistency across all marketing materials will be a key part of your role. Additionally, you will assist in tracking the marketing department's budget, monitor expenses, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures. You will also collaborate with finance and procurement departments to process invoices and purchase orders, prepare presentations, reports, and other documents as required. Monitoring media coverage and compiling press clippings and reports will be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will provide administrative assistance to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, including calendar management, meeting scheduling, and travel coordination. Assisting with event planning and coordination for marketing-related activities will also be expected. You should be adaptable and ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the marketing team's goals and initiatives.
