About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Strategic Targeted Marketing and Visual Information Specialist. This role involves providing insights into environmental trends, key performance indicators, and market analysis, while exercising control over national and local performance plans. The specialist will work closely with contracted agencies to ensure that key timelines are met. The position requires conducting comprehensive market research, developing analytical frameworks, and analyzing program performance data to inform decision-making processes. In addition to research, the specialist will be responsible for developing and recommending marketing and publicity plans, policies, procedures, strategies, and programs that align with established management principles and pertinent regulations. This includes providing advertising media and implementing promotional programs specifically for Headquarters Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps recruiting activities. The role also involves building and maintaining databases, as well as updating market research to ensure that the organization remains competitive and effective in its outreach efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and develop analytical frameworks to analyze program performance data.
  • Develop and recommend marketing and publicity plans, policies, procedures, strategies, and programs.
  • Provide advertising media and implement promotional programs for recruiting activities.
  • Build, maintain, and update databases related to market research.

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent in other pay systems, including knowledge of marketing and business practices, principles, techniques, and methods.
  • Analytical skills for collecting, interpreting, and evaluating information.
  • Imagination and creativity in achieving program objectives.
  • Broad understanding of multiple marketing channels, platforms, and tactics available to the Air Force and Space Force.
  • Extensive knowledge of visual communication, still and video imagery, illustration, and design layout principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with JAMRS or similar industry analytics thought leaders.
  • Knowledge of graphic arts and media, including perspective, layout, balance, and contrast.
