About the position

The B2B Strategy Director at Method Communications is a pivotal role that leads advertising, communications, and brand strategy across various agency clients. This position requires a deep understanding of market analysis, qualitative and quantitative research, and brand and marketing methodologies to effectively deliver brand positioning, communications, channel strategies, and integrated advertising campaigns. As a B2B specialist, the Strategy Director focuses on developing comprehensive communications strategies that encompass content, channel, brand, and messaging frameworks. The role is primarily centered around assisting clients in navigating their commercial and brand challenges, which involves creating end-to-end brand strategies. This work is executed through demand generation, lead generation, lead nurturing, and sales enablement campaigns, with a strong emphasis on measuring the effectiveness and value of these campaigns. In addition to managing existing client relationships, the Strategy Director plays a crucial role in supporting new business development and organic growth. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this position collaborates closely with Account Leads across the agency, including EVPs, SVPs, VPs, and Directors. The Strategy Director is also a member of the Leadership Team and is eligible to coach junior staff. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong account management skills, directing strategic output while inspiring creative work and ensuring that team members are empowered to execute projects effectively. The role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to lead discussions around brand and marketing strategies, as well as social and digital marketing initiatives. The Strategy Director is expected to oversee the evaluation of completed campaigns, ensuring client satisfaction and retention through strong, trusting relationships. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, participating in agency leadership discussions, and developing ways of working that uphold the highest standards of work. The position also involves evangelizing marketing within the agency and providing constructive feedback to ensure that all requirements are met. Overall, this role is integral to the success of both the agency and its clients, requiring a collaborative, team-oriented individual with a passion for B2B marketing and a commitment to continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advertising, communications, and brand strategy for agency clients.
  • Conduct market analysis and qualitative/quantitative research to inform strategies.
  • Develop end-to-end brand strategies and integrated advertising campaigns.
  • Support clients in understanding their commercial and brand challenges.
  • Execute demand generation, lead generation, lead nurture, and sales enablement campaigns.
  • Manage and maintain client relationships, building trust and confidence.
  • Direct strategic output and inspire creative work within the team.
  • Identify clear and differentiated directions for brand and communications strategies.
  • Lead discussions around brand, business marketing, and communications strategies.
  • Oversee the evaluation of completed campaigns and share results with clients.
  • Act as a mentor to junior staff and participate in agency leadership discussions.
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to new client acquisition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in a communications strategy role, with a minimum of 2 years in a B2B strategy role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading brand strategy and integrated communications plans.
  • Proven success in solving complex problems in a matrix environment.
  • Strong understanding of tools and methodologies used in B2B communications.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with a big-picture perspective.
  • Experience leading a team and developing account-based marketing strategies.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish excellent working relationships with stakeholders.
