About the position

Amerisure Insurance Company is seeking a Marketing Underwriter to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role is pivotal in marketing, evaluating, and pricing our insurance products and services tailored for our target classes of business. As a Marketing Underwriter, you will serve as a primary contact for assigned agents, ensuring that their needs are met while also collaborating with other underwriters to provide comprehensive service for their accounts. In this position, you will be responsible for executing business plans aimed at achieving operational targets related to written premium, loss ratio, product retention, and pricing. You will also play a crucial role in coordinating service efforts, which includes ordering and screening various reports necessary for the underwriting process, such as Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs), loss runs, credit scores, and loss control inspections. Additionally, you will participate in agency visits to strengthen relationships and facilitate communication between the agency and Amerisure's service team. This collaboration is essential for obtaining necessary information for screenings and transactions, as well as resolving any policy and billing issues that may arise. Your efforts will support our Partners for Success strategy, ensuring adherence to our service model and promoting a strong customer service focus throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Market, evaluate and price products and services within Amerisure target classes of business.
• Assist in executing business plans for achieving established operational plan targets for written premium, loss ratio, product retention, pricing and coordination of service.
• Order and screen miscellaneous reports in the rating and underwriting process such as Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs), loss runs, credit scores, loss control inspections, etc.
• Participate in agency visits and in servicing the agency relationship, facilitating communication between the agency and Amerisure service team to obtain information necessary for screenings, transactions, resolving policy and billing issues, etc.
• Collaborate with service team to support and advance the Partners for Success strategy, ensuring adherence to the service model and promoting a strong customer service focus.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience.
• Minimum 1 year of middle market underwriting experience.
• Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel within assigned region.
