About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role at Sevita involves providing essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based settings. This part-time position focuses on assisting individuals with daily living activities, health maintenance, and skill development, ensuring they lead fulfilling lives. The DSP works closely with a small group of individuals, fostering relationships and promoting independence while adhering to individual service plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals in accordance with their service or program plans.
• Assist with personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, and community integration.
• Document progress and activities accurately and maintain confidentiality.
• Manage individuals' assets and assist with money management as assigned.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments and relay information to medical providers.
• Administer medications and document their delivery accurately, if assigned.
• Monitor individuals' health and communicate concerns to supervisors or medical staff.
• Transport individuals safely in the community and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks to maintain a safe environment.
• Participate in training and staff meetings as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Six months of experience in human services preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of all state-required training and certification in mandated timeframes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• First aid and CPR certification.
