About the position

Arch Amenities Group, the world's leading spa, fitness, and leisure firm, is seeking a Massage Therapist at Poseidon Spa located within The Grand Bohemian Hotel in Biltmore Village. The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing massages and other body treatments to guests of our facility. This role requires a commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining the high standards set by Arch Amenities Group. The ideal candidate will be skilled in various massage techniques and body treatments, ensuring that each guest receives a personalized experience that meets their needs and expectations. As a Massage Therapist, you will be expected to adhere to the policies and procedures of Arch Amenities Group, ensuring that all services provided align with the established guidelines. You will perform a range of treatments based on your current licensure and assess any contraindications that may prevent services from being rendered. It is essential to maintain a clean and safe working environment, including the daily cleaning and disinfection of all equipment used during treatments. In addition to providing massages, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of product knowledge, understanding the ingredients in the products used, and being able to explain their benefits to guests. You will also recommend products for home use and suggest other beneficial treatments available at the spa. Punctuality is crucial, as you will be expected to begin and end all treatments on time, work your assigned schedule, and ensure that work areas are clean and organized according to procedures. You will also be required to create and maintain client cards and treatment notes, attend scheduled meetings and professional trainings, and report any incidents or accidents to management. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the 'Arch Amenities Group Experience' for guests by maintaining the standards set in Arch Amenities Group Basics to Excellence (BTE), Arch Amenities Group Mission Statement/Values; Standards and Expectations, and Arch Amenities Group Brand Standards.
  • Adheres to policies of Arch Amenities Group.
  • Performs massage and body services that meet the established guidelines for the type of service offering and that fulfill guest expectations.
  • Performs all treatments on services menu based upon current licensure.
  • Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place.
  • Meets the needs of the guest at all times throughout the service.
  • Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services.
  • Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily basis.
  • Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa service presently offered.
  • Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests.
  • Answers guests' questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
  • Recommends products for home use.
  • Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
  • Begins and ends all treatments on time.
  • Works assigned schedule and arrives and departs from their shift on time.
  • Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
  • Informs Spa Director or other management personnel about product needs.
  • Creates and maintains client cards and treatment notes, when appropriate.
  • Completes all assigned side work.
  • Attends all scheduled meetings.
  • Attends scheduled professional trainings.
  • Reports any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Massage Therapist in North Carolina.
  • Proven experience in providing massage and body treatments.
  • Strong knowledge of various massage techniques and body treatments.
  • Ability to assess guest needs and contraindications effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the workplace.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
