About the position

The MAST Deployment and Change Manager role is a pivotal position within Carnival Cruise Line, specifically designed to support one of the Corporation's most significant and strategic initiatives within Maritime Operations (MAST). The primary responsibility of this role is to manage a dedicated team that is tasked with the deployment and change strategy for the MAST Program. This involves working closely with the Senior Manager to ensure that the strategy is effectively delivered. Over the next two years, a critical milestone for this role will be the successful corporate-wide implementation of MAST. The candidate will collaborate with various functions within the business and third-party partners to ensure the successful execution of this initiative. In this role, the candidate will be expected to build and manage a proficient team that can deliver the agreed-upon benefits of the MAST Program. Additionally, the role includes providing guidance and support to various Brand Change Management Leads, equipping them with effective plans and templates for Ship Deployments, and sustaining ongoing change support. The candidate will draw from collective experiences and lessons learned from other brands to facilitate the planning and execution of change activities, focusing on continuous improvement to enhance future outcomes. The essential functions of this role include management and ship deployment, where the focus will be on the MAST implementation and rollout. The candidate will liaise with Brand Leads, IT Leads, and other key stakeholders to address ship deployment resource needs, manage plans for multiple ship deployment teams, and coordinate resources from various functions to enable timely ship deployment. The role also involves tracking ship assessment and deployment progress, managing cutover activities, and ensuring stakeholder engagement at all levels. Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for preparing the organization for effective deployment and post-deployment support, overseeing the updating of training and communication materials, and ensuring the delivery of targeted benefits across all programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team responsible for the deployment and change strategy for the MAST Program.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager and multiple functions within the business as well as third parties.
  • Build and manage a proficient team to ensure the delivery of agreed-upon benefits.
  • Provide guidance and support to Brand Change Management Leads for Ship Deployments.
  • Facilitate the planning and execution of change activities with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with Brand Lead, IT Leads, and other key stakeholders to address ship deployment resource needs.
  • Manage the plan for multiple ship deployment teams to meet deployment schedules.
  • Coordinate resources from various functions including IT, ship operations, data governance, change management, and finance.
  • Track ship assessment/preparation and deployment progress to senior management.
  • Facilitate Hypercare process and transition to ongoing support for each ship deployment.
  • Manage cutover activities and document lessons learned after each go-live.
  • Develop and drive progress against project plans, managing execution through standard project management tools.
  • Prepare the organization for effective deployment and post-deployment support.
  • Monitor and oversee the updating of core-level training and communication materials.
  • Oversee and provide guidance for Brand Change Management Leads to utilize for Ship Deployments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in project management and implementation, managing complex initiatives with a significant change management and process improvement element.
  • Experience in maritime operations and dealing with a decentralized environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with MS Visio and MS Project.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex, global projects using project management tools.
  • Ability to identify, document, and improve existing processes to meet organizational needs.
  • Working understanding of complex, international operations in maritime settings.
  • Proven ability to drive change, build consensus, and resolve conflicts.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with key stakeholders.
