About the position

The Data Owner Senior Group Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations, laws, and Citi policies to manage data risk. This role involves defining the strategy and operationalizing data ownership for Master & Reference Data (MRD) within the Services, Markets, and Client (SM&C) data organizations. The individual will collaborate with various stakeholders to provide certified data that meets organizational requirements and will lead a team to implement data governance practices effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Data Ownership for Master & Reference Data domains within Services, Markets, and Client data organizations.
  • Report into the SM&C MRD Data Lead and provide support across Services, Markets, and Client businesses.
  • Manage a team of senior professional data owners to deliver data solutions and educate stakeholders on data ownership obligations.
  • Define and operationalize an MRD operating model influencing senior stakeholders in Operations, Technology, and Business.
  • Drive strategic decisions on data governance strategy with senior data leaders to fulfill obligations in the Citi Data Governance Policy.
  • Monitor strategic controls and governance of MRD authoritative sources and chair a senior governance forum.
  • Partner with MRD transformation leads to ensure alignment with MRD Consent Order commitments.
  • Contribute to decisions on issues that impact company revenues and operations.
  • Lead efforts to identify end-to-end data flow and ensure compliance with new policies and standards.
  • Create effective presentations for various audience types, including the Citigroup Board and Executive Management Team.
  • Align key data capabilities with data and system process flows.
  • Prioritize Data Concerns and report Data Quality issues through Citi's management process.
  • Develop metrics and key performance indicators associated with data quality and controls.
  • Ensure sound program/project management for the entire Data portfolio in partnership with the Program Management Office.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience.
  • Experience in defining and implementing data management, data capabilities, analytics, and information management.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate future possibilities into breakthrough strategies.
  • Understanding of all aspects of Data Management, including Data Lineage, Metadata, Data Quality, Data Remediation, and Issue Management.
  • Effective communication skills to convey understanding of unique audience needs and drive consensus.
  • Experience in leading change in large organizations and managing resistance.
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and solve complex problems.
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizations.
