The Master Data Governance Manager at Doosan Bobcat is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the management and governance of data within the business unit. This position is essential for ensuring that the data is well-managed, accurate, and fit for its intended use. The Master Data Governance Manager will operationalize data governance practices across the business unit, making critical decisions on behalf of the Business Data Owner. This role requires collaboration with other data stewards to create alignment and integration of data across various business areas, ensuring that data governance policies, standards, and goals are effectively communicated and implemented. In this senior-level position, the Master Data Governance Manager will engage with leadership teams to obtain buy-in for data governance activities, influencing the establishment of data governance policies and standards. The role demands strong relationship management skills, as the manager will need to collaborate effectively within their department and across the organization, influencing others without relying on formal authority. The manager will act as a trusted advisor to leadership, solving complex project issues and facilitating collaboration among senior resources. The responsibilities include maintaining master data, proposing new attribute requirements, ensuring accurate and timely data input, and developing policies to ensure data quality. The manager will support data migration activities, champion data governance initiatives, and promote a culture of data usage and access across functions. This role also involves coaching operational and data governance principles, managing complex projects, and delivering effective communication to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Understand overall data process flow and specific areas of responsibility
  • Maintain master data and propose new attribute requirements
  • Ensure accurate and timely data input
  • Develop policies and standards for data accuracy and acceptability
  • Identify and inventory business data with complete and quality metadata
  • Support data migration activities including extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation
  • Act as a change agent to drive data culture and appropriate data usage
  • Collaborate with data owners and data scientists to enhance and govern data assets
  • Promote the usage of shared data and encourage metadata enrichment
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5-10 years of functional and technical expertise in analytics or business intelligence applications
  • Project management experience with strong fundamentals in analytics, data integration, and visualization
  • Advanced understanding of the competitive environment in the business line
  • Strong change agent and effective communicator
  • Technical data knowledge and ability to handle Technical Data Steward responsibilities
  • Experience with system administration
