About the position

The Master Data Owner role at Landis+Gyr is responsible for overseeing the governance and quality of Material Master data across the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Japan. This position combines global and local data ownership, ensuring that data governance principles are defined, implemented, and maintained in collaboration with Global IT and local data owners. The role requires a deep understanding of SAP systems and the relationships between master data objects and business needs, with a focus on compliance, quality, and security of data.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the required Material Master information on the Master Data Catalog created by Global IT.
  • Incorporate global Material Master Data processes into the organization's Data Governance strategy.
  • Manage the organization's Material Master Data Object in SAP.
  • Coordinate the work of other Local Data Owners and ensure compliance with tasks and deadlines.
  • Identify and document relevant Material Master Data Source Systems for US, MX, CAN, and JPN.
  • Define and maintain Governance, Quality, Security, and Compliance requirements for Material Master Data.
  • Populate and update the Data Model and MDM Tool design documentation of Material Master.
  • Define a strategy to make Materials MDM an asset to the business and related tools.
  • Execute Material Master Data clean-up activities for US, MX, CAN, and JPN.
  • Collaborate on the implementation and improvements of the Master Data Management Tool.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in Master Data Management.
  • Advanced level of experience with SAP.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP PLM and SAP IBP.
  • Expert level understanding of Material Master data and related business processes.
