About the position

Tradesmen International is seeking skilled Master Field Service Technicians for projects in Chesapeake, VA. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate of $27-35/hour based on experience and skill level. The role involves diagnosing operational problems in electrical power generation and control systems, utilizing specialized measuring instruments, and performing installation, repair, and testing of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose operational problems in electrical power generation and control systems and equipment.
• Use specialized measuring and testing instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and meggers.
• Make standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, or specifications.
• Install, repair, and test electrical systems, electrical equipment, and emergency or standby generation systems.
• Conduct IR scans of customer power and control systems.
• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electric motors, AC induction, and generators in the field.

Requirements

• Master Electrician License preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting with a background in AC/DC motors, controls, and generators.
• Experience with thermography; NETA or NICET certifications preferred over a Master Electrician/Journeyman.
• Certifications need to be current.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with advanced Motor Circuit Testers AWA IV12 PDMA MCE Megger ADX 15.
