About the position

The Community Support Specialist in the Mobile Crisis Team at BJC HealthCare is responsible for providing immediate support and intervention to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. This role involves responding to calls from the 988 crisis hotline, conducting in-person assessments, and offering community support services to clients of all ages in various locations throughout the BJC Behavioral Health catchment area. The position operates on an overnight shift and requires collaboration with team members to ensure effective crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Provides community support services to complex clients, utilizing treatment plan interventions for positive outcomes.
• Completes timely documentation of services, detailing the need for service, interventions provided, and client responses.
• Contacts individuals or referral sources after missed appointments to promote recovery efforts.
• Supports individuals in crisis situations, providing immediate assistance and intervention.
• Mentors and provides job shadowing to community support colleagues.
• Assists clinical teams with qualified mental health provider support, including service access assessments.
• Completes annual assessments and necessary documentation for clients.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Human Services or a related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in community support or mental health services.
• QMHP Certification required.
• Class D (IL) or Class E (MO) License required upon hire.
