About the position
The Master Mechanic position at Avis Budget Group involves performing standard and complex automotive repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models. The role requires a high level of expertise in diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems without technical supervision. The mechanic may also serve as a technical expert to other technicians in the shop, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard and complex repairs on a wide variety of auto makes and models.
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust, brakes, electrical, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Act as a technical expert to other technicians in the shop.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Minimum 3 years of auto repair experience
- Hold 3 ASE certifications and the ability to acquire 2 additional ASE certificates within the first year
- Knowledge in areas covered by ASE certification programs such as Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, and Engine Performance
- Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate or loud noise levels
- Complete set of tools required for auto repair and maintenance
- Basic computer skills including typing and data entry
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, walking, sitting, and kneeling frequently
- Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
Nice-to-haves
- Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience preferred
