About the position

The Master Electrician at Lakeside Foods plays a crucial role in maintaining the electrical systems of the facility, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. This position involves installing, repairing, and testing electrical circuits and equipment, contributing to the overall performance and reliability of the facility's operations. The role is integral to the maintenance team, providing support during both regular operations and emergency situations, while also fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits and equipment using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
  • Repair and maintain motor control centers and programmable logic controls (1000 volt and below).
  • Make emergency repairs when necessary to offset excessive downtime and production delays.
  • Assist plant mechanics with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Supervise and train production staff as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Must be certified by the State to meet all requirements necessary to hold a Master Electrician rating.
  • Experience with industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair is required.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting PLC programs is a plus, willing to provide on the job training.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Safety mindset, utilizing extreme care on troubleshooting and repairs where high voltages are involved.
