About the position

The CNC Programmer (Process Engineer) is responsible for creating and revising CNC programs, ensuring adherence to quality requirements and workmanship standards. This full-time position involves collaboration with tooling suppliers, development of manufacturing processes, and management of program distribution to the shop floor. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise CNC programs with tool, fixture, and set-up requirements.
• Collaborate with tooling suppliers to enhance process efficiency.
• Develop tool test programs and implementation plans for improved manufacturing processes.
• Utilize software for the creation and management of Manufacturing Plans and machine programming.
• Manage and maintain program distribution to the shop floor according to company policy.
• Work closely with the QA department to establish operation and first piece inspection points and documentation.
• Participate in other projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Experienced with Mastercam X6 and later (currently using X8).
• Experience with Solid Works and Vericut (currently using the newest versions).
• Manufacturing engineering background with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in optimizing CNC programs and fixture designs.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009 standard).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• High level working knowledge of machine controls: Mazak, Haas, and Heidenhain.
• High school graduate; AA or BS degree preferred but not required based on experience.
• 10+ years of CNC programming experience.
• Proficient with Mastercam software, Vericut verification software, and program editors.
• Minimum of 5 years in machining experience.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work.
