About the position
The MasterCam Programmer position at Custom Materials, Inc. involves creating and modifying programs for 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines. The role is crucial for producing high-quality custom fabrications for various industries, including aerospace and renewable energy. The programmer will utilize their skills to troubleshoot and optimize CNC operations while ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Edit, set up, and operate CNC equipment to produce products according to print specifications.
- Troubleshoot programs including speeds, feeds, and tooling.
- Verify and document in-process work orders.
- Ensure quality product by using necessary measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and pi tapes.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
- Meet production deadlines by following manufacturing schedules and procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate with an Associate Degree; Bachelor Degree (BSME) preferred.
- MasterCam, Solidworks, and/or AutoCAD background to create and modify 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC milling and turning machines.
- 3-4+ years experience with CNC and CAD/CAM programming software.
- SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred.
- Knowledge to design tooling, fixtures, and provide job quoting.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Blueprint reading is a must.
- Good organizational skills.
