About the position

The Supervised Clinician at New Directions Wellness Center is responsible for providing culturally competent mental health services to individuals and families facing various challenges. This full-time position involves delivering outpatient therapy, completing clinical documentation, and maintaining a responsive schedule to meet client needs. The clinician will also engage in personal marketing efforts and participate in clinical supervision towards licensure in Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to clients.
  • Complete intake sessions with new clients.
  • Document clinical notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries within 3 days of service.
  • Maintain a minimum of 20 billable hours per week, working approximately 36 hours/week.
  • Attend all meetings and actively participate in the clinic environment.
  • Engage in personal marketing efforts to increase client caseload.
  • Complete continuing education requirements and stay updated with best practices.
  • Refer clients to community resources when necessary.
  • Secure client information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Participate in clinical supervision towards licensure.
  • Maintain up-to-date case files in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a mental health-related field with eligibility for licensure.
  • Previous experience in group, individual, and family counseling.
  • Skills in applying varied interventions with individuals/families in crisis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Skill in working with diverse cultures.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive team interactions with clinic staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in discharge planning.
  • Familiarity with community referral sources.
