About the position

The Match Support Specialist (Site Based) Bilingual Spanish/English at Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star is responsible for providing case management support to match participants, ensuring the development of strong and lasting relationships between mentors and mentees. This role involves conducting match introductions, facilitating group meetings, and maintaining regular contact with participants to support their needs and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload of Community and/or School Based matches and provide match support and relationship development.
  • Contact Mentors, parents, and Mentees to provide ongoing risk management and support for the longevity of the Match.
  • Discuss Match activities, personal safety reminders, and goal accomplishments with participants.
  • Assess individual training needs and share information about agency activities.
  • Attend Match activities to make meaningful in-person contacts with Matches.
  • Conduct Match introductions and closures according to agency standards.
  • Write and input comprehensive assessment notes regarding case management discussions in the agency database.
  • Familiarize with community resources for client information/referral and share knowledge with staff.
  • Attend and participate in all team, staff, and program meetings.
  • Assist with agency program events as needed.
  • Lead bi-monthly program sessions for groups of Matches at corporate sites or schools.
  • Organize and coordinate logistics between corporate and school leadership for activities.
  • Track and share data with leadership and partners regarding mentoring impact.
  • Develop and manage relationships with school and corporate leaders.
  • Lead orientations for Mentors and assist during enrollment.
  • Proactively assist relationships through regular communication and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in social or human science (social work, sociology, psychology, or education).
  • One year experience in a social service or teaching field preferred.
  • Prior experience with intake and assessment of adults and/or youth preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel with at least 45 words per minute, error-free typing.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required.
  • Flexibility to work early evening weekday hours and occasional weekends.
