About the position

The Material and Purchasing Manager - Signage is responsible for overseeing the purchasing, inventory, and supply chain operations specifically for signage projects. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong vendor negotiation skills and a comprehensive understanding of signage materials and production timelines. The manager will ensure a steady flow of materials while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effective materials specific to the signage industry.
  • Oversee the entire purchasing process, from supplier selection and negotiation to order placement and tracking, ensuring timely delivery of signage materials.
  • Develop and manage inventory control processes to optimize material availability while reducing waste and excess stock.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets for purchasing and materials, ensuring cost efficiency in alignment with project demands and company goals.
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure materials meet specifications, quality standards, and compliance for signage projects.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices for procurement, storage, and inventory management, optimizing workflow and minimizing delays.
  • Work closely with project managers, production teams, and logistics to align material needs with project timelines and resolve any material-related issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years in purchasing, materials management, or supply chain with a focus on signage or sign manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of signage materials, including substrates, vinyl, lighting, and adhesives, as well as signage-specific production requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., ERP or MRP systems) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with diverse teams and suppliers.
