About the position

Verasonics is seeking a full-time Material Buyer/Planner to manage purchasing and supply chain operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that the organization meets shipping goals and maintains optimal inventory levels while collaborating cross-functionally to support customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and dependable, contributing to a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project status and master schedule performance, developing scheduling status reports
  • Track changes that affect the schedule, identify schedule variances, and apply mitigation strategies
  • Work closely with the marketing/sales team to align inventory levels and capacity with company needs including close communication on lead time
  • Negotiate supplier agreements with guidance from management
  • Generate the inputs and calculate results for the monthly sales and operations planning process
  • Coordinate future product launch and production schedules in accordance with sales forecasts
  • Procure inventory, supplies, and capital goods for production purposes
  • Receive requisitions and check each item for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements
  • Develop, investigate, and qualify supply sources and issue requests for quotations, proposals, or bids for those items not covered by any existing purchasing arrangement
  • Serve as liaison to vendors and suppliers

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with inventory management
  • 2+ years of experience with production planning or supply chain operations, preferably in a process manufacturing setting
  • Prior experience in production scheduling in a lean, complex environment
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating large supply agreements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and Jira
  • A thorough understanding of key inputs
  • Ability to work in environment with general direction vs. following procedures
  • Ability to lift and transport systems up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds with or without assistance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Experience with Fishbowl strongly preferred
  • Understanding of contract negotiations
  • Familiarity with MRP systems
