About the position

The Material Control Operations Manager at Northrop Grumman is responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of production materials within the semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role involves managing multiple shifts, directing a team of shift managers, and ensuring that production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The position requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a solid understanding of semiconductor technology and operations management.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the Material Control operations across multiple shifts.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage the efficient movement of production material from receiving to production.
  • Utilize Material Planning and Inventory systems like SAP and Factory Works to monitor material movement.
  • Provide direction and guidance to employees in accordance with management guidelines and policies.
  • Oversee daily operations of teams on 5 shifts, including staffing decisions and training.
  • Drive engagement efforts to maximize employee potential and career development.
  • Resolve problems and implement process improvements within the operations.
  • Monitor functional and organizational metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in operations, material control, production control, manufacturing, or supply chain management; or a Master's degree with 6 years of related experience.
  • 3+ years of successful people management experience, managing organizations of 20 or more individuals.
  • Experience in presenting to executive staff and leadership.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in the semiconductor or related industry.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government DoD Top Secret clearance.
