About the position

The Material Control Specialist is responsible for performing daily warehouse duties to support various operational requirements, including Network Operations, OSP Construction, Sales, and Customer Service. This role involves managing inventory, processing orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials while maintaining safety and efficiency in warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily warehouse duties including receiving, stocking, shipping, staging, tracking, planning, and allocation of materials.
• Oversee special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
• Process orders timely and accurately for customer needs.
• Manage material transactions and annual inventory through Peoplesoft Financials.
• Handle logistics of repaired materials and warranty checks.
• Maintain efficient inventory levels and organization of materials in the warehouse and cable yard.
• Document and maintain all records accurately and timely.
• Drive company vehicle when required and package, label, and ship materials as needed.
• Assist other areas of the Purchasing & Material Control department as directed by Management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass Material Control Specialist Aptitude and Physical Standards testing.
• Possess a valid State of Illinois driver's license and be an insurable driver.
• Forklift Operator certification required within 30 days of hire.
• General computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes email.
