About the position

The Material Control Supervisor at Ford will oversee operations at the Brownstown PRC, focusing on managing UAW crews, ensuring safety, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role involves direct supervision of various processes including inbound and outbound logistics, claims processing, and fostering positive relationships with UAW employees. The supervisor will also be responsible for continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with Ford-UAW contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all operations including inbound, outbound, and claims processing.
  • Deliver objectives related to safety, UAW relationships, error rates, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Cover crews in the supervisor's absence and facilitate crew meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain work-related records as needed.
  • Schedule workforce including overtime and vacation.
  • Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years operational experience within a High Velocity Center preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Proven dependability record and successful team-oriented experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet shipping deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to demand accountability from all employees.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous UAW/HVC supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn current systems (SAP/EWM).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and reach logical conclusions independently.
  • Goal-oriented individual.
