About the position

The Material Coordinator Associate at Corewell Health is responsible for managing the inventory of equipment, materials, linens, and supplies within an assigned area. This role involves tasks such as inventory management, stocking, receiving, and delivering supplies to ensure that all necessary materials are readily available for various locations. The position requires collaboration with supply chain team members and other staff to provide exceptional care to customers, utilizing a computer-based inventory management system for daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming requisitions received via fax, intranet, hardcopy, and telephone from various customers by dispensing inventory supplies and equipment in a timely manner or ordering from third-party vendors.
  • Maintain inventory levels of supplies, materials, equipment, and linens, ensuring a neat and orderly appearance of inventory locations and work areas.
  • Utilize a handheld computer or other methods to manage inventory and input information into the main computer system to record accurate inventory levels.
  • Break down delivery carts and/or pallets and assemble orders for delivery to requesting units.
  • Deliver products and equipment to requesting locations following proper delivery techniques and safety guidelines.
  • Remove soiled linen and products from nursing units to designated holding areas following universal safety precautions.
  • Pack products in totes, boxes, pallets, or carts according to proper packing techniques for delivery, labeling and placing orders in assigned areas for shipping or delivery.
  • Load, unload, and secure heavy cargo for delivery vehicles, using a pallet jack as necessary, and check deliveries against purchase orders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
